Bill
Wingfield grew up in
Vallejo
California
and has been playing electric and acoustic bass for 25 years. At the age of 16,
he began his musical career with a 2 year stint in a working 18-piece big band &
dance troupe. As a teen, he also subbed for the local college music department
while still in high school, in addition to playing in various rock and fusion
bands. A self professed computer geek, Bill earned his Bachelor’s Degree in
Electronic Engineering in 1986, worked in the medical field for 13 years, and
has been building his own PCs since 1988. Since moving to Paso Robles from Los
Angeles in 1999, Bill has played in local bands, led a 7-piece R&B band of his
own, and currently plays upright bass in big band, small combo jazz groups, and
for local theater groups such as Pioneer Players. Bill is married with 2 school
age children, and is very active performing at local worship services and
charity events. His favorite musical influences are Marcus Miller, John
Patitucci, Jaco Pasoriuos, and Pat Metheny. When not making music or
building computers, Bill owns and maintains a national dog registry, dedicated
to mix breeds and performance events. Bill is an extremely dedicated teacher, is
respected by his students, and we are thrilled to have him on staff at Divine
Appointment Guitars!
